Call For Abstracts


Thank you to all authors who submitted a scientific abstract for consideration to the 3rd International Cancer Control Congress.

Notification Letters of Acceptance will be sent out in July/August 2009. - all Notification Letters have been sent out.

Acceptance notices will be sent by e-mail to the corresponding author. Subsequent communications, including details on the format and timing of oral and poster presentations will be sent to the designated presenting author(s).

On behalf of the 3rd International Cancer Control Congress, the Scientific Program Committee is inviting the submission of contributed Scientific Abstracts in the following subject areas:

  1. planning and monitoring population based systems;
  2. establishing effective primary prevention and population-based screening programs;
  3. research and development. What do we need to know and how best should we apply it;
  4. organization of population-based programs;
  5. critical factors influencing the establishment, maintenance and sustainability of population-based programs; and
  6. international collaborative interest group workshop

The research work submitted should be original, innovative and should not have been presented elsewhere. Presentations will be either in oral form or as poster presentations. The length of the oral presentations is expected to be 15 minutes in duration. The Abstract Review Committee, which will evaluate all submitted Abstracts, reserves the right to accept or reject any paper and make a final decision on the form of presentation. In addition, the Abstract Review Committee reserves the right to relocate submitted Abstracts to a different stream and/or session if deemed appropriate.

The deadline for Abstract submission is 15 June 2009.

Abstracts should be submitted in electronic form through the Congress website. Detailed instructions for preparing and submitting an abstract will be made available on the Congress website. Abstract submissions should adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Abstracts should not exceed 300 words in length
  • Tables may be included – each counts as 75 words
  • Graphics/photos are permitted – each counts as 75 words
  • Abstracts will be accepted in English only
  • Abstracts must be submitted electronically through the online submission form

Authors of submitted Abstracts will be informed of the Abstract Review Committee’s decision by July 2009. Acceptance notices will be sent by e-mail to the corresponding author. Subsequent communications, including details on the format and timing of oral and poster presentations will be sent to the designated presenting author(s).

Presenting Authors of Accepted Abstracts are required to register for the Congress. Please take advantage of the Early Registration Fee by submitting your registration to the Congress Secretariat by 28 August 2009.
